The AFA-3G fuel rods from a nuclear power plant were irradiated for post-irradiation inspection at CARR hot chamber and 303 hot chamber of China Institute of Atomic Energy. The damaged rods were analyzed for their damage. The main contents of the post-irradiation inspection include appearance, size, eddy current, X-ray, gamma scan and other non-destructive testing, as well as fission gas measurement, metallography, scanning electron microscopy, hydrogen content destructive testing. The test results show that the surface of the complete fuel rods attachments increased significantly with the increase of fuel consumption and line power density and other factors,
