心脏交感神经系统由心内或称壁内神经节、心外神经节、中枢神经等部分组成,在心脏中广泛分布,发挥重要心功能调节作用。心内交感神经系统由心脏神经节、心内神经元组成,发挥重要的心脏局部调节作用。心瓣膜是心脏重要组成结构,也有丰富的神经纤维分布,这些神经纤维含有降钙素基因相关肽、去甲肾上腺素、神经肽Y及一氧化氮合酶等神经递质。二尖瓣有主动收缩功能,瓣膜功能异常对心功能有重要影响,心瓣膜老龄过程中二尖瓣组织中交感神经支配密度明显降低。推测瓣膜神经功能减弱可能与随年龄增加心瓣膜功能异常发生率增高有关。
