In the context of rising fuel prices and urban traffic congestion, multiple bus rapid transit is being tested in multiple cities around the world and Ithaca, the northern university town of New York, USA, has become the first residential area in the United States to use an individual bus rapid transit system. Unlike other modes of transport, each individual fast bus can carry between 2 and 10 passengers, but it offers the same private space and freedom as a private car.
