法国伽里玛出版社分别在1948年和1954年出版了纪德从1889年秋到1949年6月写下的《日记》,计有一千六百六十页,译成文中近一百四十万言。从这两大卷日记里,我们可以看到纪德对政治、文化、文学、伦理、哲学、美学等问题的见解,也可以洞察他在法国现代文学中的影响力。这里选译的几段当有挂一漏万之嫌。特别需要提一句的是,我国的知名学者、原北京大学法国文学教授盛澄华先生早年潜心研究纪德作品,并同纪德本人有过直接交往与书信交流。在这里,译者专门译出纪德日记中对盛澄华先生的回忆,以为对已故师长的一点纪念。·译者·
Gallimard, France, published in 1948 and 1954, respectively, the “Diary” written by Gide from the autumn of 1889 to June 1949, with 1,660 pages and nearly one hundred and forty Million words. From these diaspora diaries, we can see Gide’s views on politics, culture, literature, ethics, philosophy and aesthetics, as well as his influence in French modern literature. Here are a few paragraphs to be translated when suspected. In particular, one of the famous scholars in China, Sheng Chenghua, a former professor of French literature at Peking University, devoted himself to studying Jide’s works in his early years and had direct exchanges and correspondence with Jide himself. Here, the translator specially translates the memory of Mr. Cheng Chenghua in Jide’s Diary, thinking that he is going to make a point of commemorating the late teacher. · Translator
