本世纪以来,舞台美术的艺术实践,有了空前的发展。无论就其发展的规模,还是对它的质的认识上的变化,都是历史上任何一个阶段无可比拟的。艺术实践的这种空前发展,带来了对舞台美术认识的概念上的变化,即理论上的发展。理论来自实践,又反作用于实践,并在实践中接受对其真理性的检验,这是一切理论发展的辩证规律,艺术理论,舞台美术理论的发展,也不例外。
Since the beginning of this century, the art of stage art has enjoyed unprecedented growth. Both the scale of its development and its qualitative change are unparalleled in any stage of history. This unprecedented development of artistic practice has brought about the conceptual change in the understanding of stage art, that is, theoretical development. Theory comes from practice, reacts to practice, and accepts the test of its truth in practice. This is the dialectical law of all theoretical developments. The development of art theory and stage art theory is no exception.
