With a series of negative news related to corporate dereliction of duty, product quality issues, and financial crisis, the public’s credit rating on business has fallen sharply. According to the “China Youth Daily” report, the 2013 Edelman Trustworthy China Survey showed that the trust of Chinese companies in developed countries is only 19%. The report also shows that the way to establish and maintain trust between companies and stakeholders has changed dramatically. The proportion of operational-related factors in the trust structure dropped from 76% in 2008 to 39% in 2013. The enterprise value of being kind to employees, listening to consumers, having ethical and transparent business practices, and prioritizing customer rights and interests before corporate profits are highly valued by respondents.
