For modern Japan, which recovered and developed as rapidly as the “Phoenix” from the ruins of the defeat, the “democratic reform” under the supervision and guidance of the occupation authorities of the United States in the early postwar period (1945-1947) undoubtedly has epoch-making historical significance. A book by Tian Huan, an associate researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, recently published a book entitled “Postwar Japan’s Post-war System Reform”, which was sponsored by Japan’s International Exchange Fund and was published by Economic Science Press. This is the first systematic and comprehensive monograph on the history of Japan’s post-war reforms carried out by historians in our country. The book is a brief account of how post-war Japan was in a state of economic collapse and social crisis
