The Tang Dynasty was the heyday of the full opening up and rapid development of western China. Because of its geographical advantage of being adjacent to both the capital and the north-south Silk Road, Sichuan not only serves as the “outer house” of Chang’an and the pivot for controlling the northwest and southwest of China, but also opens its doors and gates. While vigorously absorbing the culture of Chang’an, it also unreservedly provided the necessary material guarantees to the south and north Silk Roads and endeavored to spread the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty to the outside world. In the annals of brilliant culture of Datang, Sichuan wrote a dazzling page and made its contribution to the development of world civilization.
