Objective To analyze the status of hepatitis B virus infection in patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Methods Retrospective case analysis of 132 patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma treated in our department from 1999 to 2007 was conducted to detect five hepatitis B patients and 132 patients with other malignant tumors (excluding primary hepatocellular carcinoma) , 132 healthy subjects were compared as a control. Results The positive rate of hepatitis B in the three groups was 28.8%, 13.6% and 9.1% respectively; the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions The HBV infection rate in patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is significantly higher than that in the general population and in general cancer patients (except primary hepatocellular carcinoma).
