２０００年１０月底，在广东梅州市召开了“林风眠李金发诞辰百周年纪念暨学术研讨会”。来自北京、上海、广州、香港、台湾和美国等地的六十多位海内外嘉宾和著名学者，齐聚一堂，研讨林风眠和李金发两位大师从事文化艺术活动的历程及其对中国文化事业的贡献。对林风眠学贯中西的绘画艺术，李金发的现代雕塑和象征主义诗歌的成就，给予了高度评价。为了展示这次盛会的丰硕成果，本刊特派记者与会，并从大会提供的缅怀文章和学术论文中，精选若干与中国象征派诗歌大师李金发有关的篇章，组成本专辑。
The end of October 2000, held in Meizhou, Guangdong, “Lin Fengmian Li Jinfa centenary commemorative cum symposium.” More than 60 guests and scholars from home and abroad from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States gathered together to discuss the course of engaging in arts and cultural activities by Lin Fengmian and Li Jinfa and their contributions to the cause of Chinese culture Contributions. Lin Fengmian learned Chinese and Western painting art, Li Jinfa’s modern sculpture and the symbolism poetry achievements, spoke highly of. In order to show the rich achievements of this grand occasion, this journal special correspondents attended the meeting, and from the memory articles and academic papers provided by the congress, selected a number of chapters related to Li Jinfa, the great Chinese symbolist poet, to form the album.
