(From “British Words” 2007 1, 2) 1. Liaoning across the Liao River, the late Qing Dynasty is Fengtian Province, is now the economic province of the Northeast. Do you know why it is called “Liaoning ”? A: Liaoning has crossed the banks of the Liaohe River and belongs to Fengtian Province in the late Qing Dynasty. It is China’s frontline for fighting invading foreign powers, and has frequent wars and people’s livelihood. In 1929, the Nationalist government changed Fengtian to Liaoning and used the meaning of permanent peace and peace in the Liaohe River Basin. 2. Jiangsu belonged to Jiangnan Province in the early Qing Dynasty. Today, it is one of the most developed areas on the eastern coast of China. Do you know why it was named?
