1948年春末夏初,中国人民解放军的战略进攻已取得重大战果。为进一步推动军事形势大发展,朱德总司令在陈毅、粟裕两位首长(去中共中央汇报工作返回)陪同下,于5月10日从河北省阜平县城南庄来到黄河北岸河南省濮阳县(今濮阳市)附近孙王庄华东野战军指挥部进行慰问并指导工作。 朱德总司令来到指挥部后,先后出席一兵团直属队欢迎会,团以上干部会、召集各纵队司令员汇报会,一兵团所属一、四、六纵队、特种兵纵队。此间他还到战士中间寒间暖,当场解答战士提出的各种问题。
