辽宁省北镇县地处医巫闾山脚下。全县有25个乡镇,耕地114万亩,总人口50万人。建国以来,全县人民大搞治山治水,打井修渠,改洼治涝,建库修堤。到1986年累计建成小水库9座;机电井3840眼;排灌站57座;河道堤防192公里;人畜饮水和防病改水工程39处。
North County, Liaoning Province is located at the foot of Yiwulushan. The county has 25 townships, 114 mu of cultivated land, the total population of 500,000 people. Since the founding of the People’s Republic, the people of this county have made great efforts in harnessing mountains and rivers, repairing ditches, modifying drainage and waterlogging, and building dikes and embankments. By 1986, a total of 9 small reservoirs, 3840 electromechanical wells, 57 irrigation and drainage stations, 192 km of river embankments, 39 drinking water for human and livestock and 39 water and disease prevention and water improvement projects were completed.
