水曲柳种子外部具有蜡质层,阻碍种子的呼吸和内渗透作用,使得种子难以膨胀迅速发芽,并且该种子具有休眠期长的特性,必须去掉种子外部的蜡貭层,促进胚的转化活动,才能达到播种后迅速发芽,并出苗整齐的目的。为了满足造林所需的苗木,于59年1--4月分会在三个林场以不同的方法和管理,进行水曲柳种子催芽处理工作,其中前进林场以35天完成种子
