罗定养路工区自1964年初光荣地评为全国交通系统的先进单位以来,全体职工更加意气风发,斗志昂扬。到1964年底,良好路面里程达99.9％,优良路为77.9％,分别比1963年提高0.1％和11.5％。消灭了主次干线和重要物资路线的减载危桥,能通过解放牌汽车。加宽了支线的路基路面,缩小了干支差距。公路基本绿化里程达180公里,占养护里程70％,年公里养护成本平均为385元(不包括工区管理费和奖金)比1963年降低2％。提前和超额完成了年度计划任务。罗定工区1964年路况有较大的改善,成本逐渐降低,其主要经验如下:
