The Remote-Monitored Battlefield Sensor System (REMBASS) provides battlefield commanders with an early warning and intelligence gathering capability. The system uses sensors that are unattended on the ground to detect, classify, and indicate the direction of enemy intrusion in areas beyond our military’s forward positions. RCA is developing the system for the Army’s Electronic Research and Development Command (ERADCOM) and is scheduled to go into operation this fall (1984).
