无疑,与美国录制工业协会(RIAA)的一场官司不仅为Rio和其它MP3便携播放器上市铺平了道路,也打响了Rio的知名度。在正式上市后不到一个月的时间内,仅在美国市场的销售业绩就已经让人刮目相看。对音乐爱好者来说,Rio提供了消磨路上时间的新选择。与CD随身听和便携式MD不同,由于没有移动部件,Rio从本质上就具备了优越的防震特性,使用闪存的Rio在这一点上具有绝对的优势。 我们中国《个人电脑》实验室一直密切关注着RIAA与Diamond公司的法律纠纷,这不仅是由于Rio深得我们的喜爱,也因为这个案例关系到MP3作为新的音乐发行渠道的可能性。
Undoubtedly, a lawsuit with the Recording Industry Association of the United States (RIAA) not only paved the way for the listing of Rio and other MP3 portable players, but also established Rio’s profile. In less than a month after its official launch, sales in the United States alone have been impressive. For music lovers, Rio offers a new option to kill time on the road. Unlike the CD Walkman and the portable MD, Rio inherently offers superior shock resistance due to the absence of moving parts, and Rio with flash memory has the absolute advantage in this regard. Our China PC lab keeps a close watch on legal disputes between RIAA and Diamond not only because of Rio’s popularity but also because of the possibility that MP3 is a new distribution channel for music.
