丘成桐,数学大师,哈佛大学客座教授,美国科学院、美国艺术科学院、俄罗斯科学院院士,当今活跃在数学前沿的领军人物之一,他解决了一系列重大课题——卡拉比猜想、正质量猜想、闵可夫斯基问题、镜猜想以及稳定性与特殊度量间的对应性等。以他的研究命名的卡拉比·丘流形在数学与理论物理上发挥了重要作用……鉴于他的杰出贡献对国际产生的巨大影响,年仅32岁的丘成桐在1982年获得有数学诺贝尔奖之称的“菲尔兹”奖,成为迄今为止唯一获得此奖的中国人。丘成桐是如何看待这些成功的呢?他说并非天才使他成功,是父亲引导他的兴趣,兴趣才是成功最关键的原因。
