根据《中共中央、国务院关于<中共湖北省委机构改革方案>和<湖北省人民政府机构改革方案>的通知》(中委[2000]27号),设置湖北省卫生厅。省卫生厅是主管全省卫生工作的省政府组成部门。一、职能调整根据以农村为重点、预防为主、中西医并重、依靠科技与教育、动员全社会参与、为人民健康服务、为社会主义现代化建设服务的新时期卫生工作方针,对省卫生厅的职能做以下调整:(一)划出的职能。将原承担的药政、药检职能交给省药品监督管理局:
