新创刊的《阵地》发表了刑贲思《关于“百家争鸣”的几个问题》一文,文章认为,关于“百家争鸣”的含义,学术界曾有多种理解,最常见的一种说法就是百家争鸣即各种不同学术见解之间的自由讨论。这种说法当然不能算错,但不够深刻、全面、没有反映党所倡导的“百家争鸣”方针的真正含义。“百家争鸣”不是一般地提倡、鼓励学术上的自由讨论的方针,而是主张通过这种讨论以发展真理,克服谬误的方针。也就是说,提倡、鼓励“百家争鸣”,归根到底是为了发展马克思主义。马克思主义怎样才能创新?一方面要总结新的实践经验和新的科学成就,也就是我们常说的研究新情况,回答新问题;另一方面就需要开展同各种错误思潮的斗争,在迎接对立面的挑战中发展自己。因此,“百家争鸣”的方针是深深植根于
