To understand the prevalence of congenital color blindness among primary and middle school students in our city, we conducted a survey from October 1992 to September 1993. The results are reported as follows: The survey targets urban and rural primary school students aged 7 to 18. The staff who participated in the survey were systematically trained and the methods and standards were harmonized. The examiner was an ophthalmologist or nurse practitioner.
