王珪,太原祁县(今山西祁县)人。在隋朝灭亡、唐朝兴起的大动荡中,他被时代的大潮裹挟,几经沉浮,乃至跌入谷底。然而,不管遇到多大挫折,王珪均极具耐心和定力,不随波逐流,不沽名钓誉,认真观察天下大势,力争把握住时代的脉搏,最终他选择了唐高祖李渊,以后又成为唐太宗的重臣,终于进入政权中枢一展宏图,成为唐初四大名相之一,为“贞观之治”作出了重要贡献。
