China’s Internet political participation is a hot topic discussed by scholars in politics and communication. In China’s Internet environment, social events in real life that have nothing to do with politics are translated into political topics on the Internet. This is a special form of China’s Internet political participation. The MAD MH370 dislocation incident that took place in 2014 can be seen as a typical case of a social event turning into a political discussion on the Internet in China. The results of the data analysis of the questionnaire show that the discussion of social events into Internet political events is influenced by people’s political attitudes (such as political efficacy, democratic attitude, patriotism and social justice) and political behaviors (such as political participation) . The research on this issue is of great significance in exploring the influence mechanism of the Internet political discussion and even exploring the Chinese government’s civil autonomy from the perspective of the relationship between the state and the society.
