英国原子能委员会Har Well公司的一项研究表明,用离子注入法,能将用于人造关节的钛合金的磨损率大辐度降低,其耐磨性能提高达400倍。因而该人造关节的使用寿命可延长到三十年之久。人造髋关节是由金属股骨和塑料髋臼构成的。
A study by the British Atomic Energy Commission Har Well shows that the titanium alloy used in artificial joints can be heavily attenuated with ion implantation, providing 400 times more wear resistance. Thus the life of the artificial joint can be extended to thirty years. Artificial hip joints are made of metal femora and plastic acetabulum.
