以加利福尼亚大学生物系主任、昆虫学教授唐纳德·道尔斯顿(Donald L.Dahlsten)为组长的美国森林害虫综合防治考察组一行四人,于1982年5月24日～31日来我省,在杭州市(杭州市植物园、浙江省林业科学研究所)、绍兴市(钱清区扬讯桥公社林场)、富阳(中国林科院亚林所)和德清县(筏头公社光华大队),对松干蚧的发生与防治、天敌昆虫的饲养繁殖、抗松干蚧松树种类的研究以及竹螟的防治等进行了考察,并和我省的有关专业人员开展了学术交流和讨论。下面是根据该考察组成员,美国康涅狄格州农业试验站研究松干蚧的马克斯·麦克卢尔(Marks.MeClure)在浙江省林科所通过幻灯片作关于美国赤松松干蚧发生与防治情况介绍时的讲话录音整理的材料。
