The European Tea Commission has formally introduced new and stricter MRL standards (referred to as EU standards) for tea leaves entering the EU. Affected by this, China’s exports of tea to the EU will be substantially reduced, such as the Guangdong Tea Import and Export Company’s exports of tea to the EU since last year, exports amounted to only 1.5587 million USdollars, a decrease of 55%.
