西部大开发战略是党中央、国务院根据邓小平同志关于“两个大局”的总体战略设想,适应现阶段我国发展做出的重大举措,得到了全国各界的积极响应。召开“西部开发与西藏发展战略”高层研讨会,是我们科技界、是我们科学家自觉自发响应和落实西部大开发战略的一项具有战略意义的学术活动。这次高级研讨会,针对西部,特别是西藏的发展战略进行研究,一定会取得重大成效。这次会议得到了西藏自治区人民政府的高度重视,产生了广泛的影响,必将对西藏未来科技发展以及科技支撑下的社会经济发展,起到巨大的推动作用。
The strategy of developing the west region is a major move by the party Central Committee and the State Council in response to General Deng Xiaoping’s overall strategic vision of “two overall plans ” and adaptation to the development of our country at this stage and has drawn positive responses from all walks of life in the country. The convening of a high-level seminar on “developing western regions and developing Tibet” is our scientific and technological community and a strategic academic activity for our scientists to respond spontaneously and implement the strategy of developing the western region. This high-level seminar aimed at studying the development strategies of the west, especially Tibet, will surely yield significant results. The meeting has won the great attention of the people’s government of the Tibet Autonomous Region and has had a broad impact. It is bound to play a huge role in promoting the development of science and technology in Tibet and the social and economic development under the support of science and technology.
