Travels “Great Plains” shows the author Freirel on the west, especially on the Great Plains views. While expressing his love for the region, he condemned the destruction and abuse of the region in the history of the United States. Freizell was quite familiar with the devastating effects of environmental damage on the Great Plains, especially the sandstorms of the 1930s. Writers criticize the capitalist system as the culprit responsible for such problems. This shows that Fleischer’s concept of progress, influenced by the new history of the western region is quite sensitive to such issues.
