在对国内外近年应用地理信息系统（GIS）解决地质学问题进行简要评述的基础上，通过实例阐述了借助于GIS技术，采用多源信息方法进行煤矿区突水预测的方法与步骤及预测结果。并展望了该方法在矿井突水预测中的应用前景。
Based on a brief review of the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) to solve geology problems at home and abroad in recent years, the method and procedure of predicting water inrush from coal mines by means of GIS technology and multi-source information method are expounded by examples . The prospect of this method in prediction of mine water inrush is also prospected.
