英语,作为联合国的主要工作语言之一,在现代语言中颇具影响。几个世纪以来,世界各民族文化的互相接触,互相交流,英语语汇不断发生着明显的变化。法语、德语、西班牙语、和拉丁语均以可观的不等的数量进入了英语中,即便是与英语关联不大的汉语,也有不少进入了英语语汇中。在英语的一些词汇、俚语和习语中,我们可以感触到中国文化的渗透和中国文化习俗的影响。
English, as one of the major working languages of the United Nations, has a significant influence in modern languages. For centuries, the cultures of all ethnic groups in the world have been in contact with each other and have exchanged ideas with each other. There have been notable changes in the English vocabulary. French, German, Spanish, and Latin have entered English in a considerable number of unequal numbers. Even Chinese, which has little to do with English, has entered English vocabulary. In some English vocabulary, slang and idioms, we can feel the infiltration of Chinese culture and the influence of Chinese culture and customs.
