《挪威的森林》一书在中国的出版,使村上春树在中国备受关注。他的作品主题大多描写的是生活在现代繁华都市青年男女置身于高度发达的资本主义社会,那无以诉说的孤独、空虚、无奈和惆怅。《品川猴》是《东京奇谭集》里面最后一个短篇,叙述了“安藤(大泽)瑞纪”这位普通女性忘记自己的名字,中学时代的名牌不翼而飞,继而从猴子那儿失而复得的故事。《象的失踪》是短篇小说集《再袭面包店》里面的短篇,叙述的是大象和饲养员莫名其妙地失踪的故事。初见这两篇小说,除了“失踪”这一特点,似乎没有内在联系,那么它们的主题是否与作者一贯的创作主线一脉相承呢?本文将围绕两篇小说的主题以及他们的“自我认同”展开分析。
