The post-war U.S. military expenditures cover three aspects: direct defense spending by the Ministry of National Defense; defense-related activities in the atomic energy sector; and defense and defense-related ministries and departments outside the Ministry of Defense. The United States military spending can be roughly divided into four stages, showing four notable features: absolute size, far out of the top of the capitalist world; accounted for a significant decline in the proportion of government spending, but still accounted for 40% of the share; GNP In the 1980s. The absolute amount and relative level of military expenditures in the 1980s all increased in an unprecedented manner, and all of them showed an upward trend. The article concludes with an analysis of the reasons for the persistently high U.S. military expenditure after the war from the aspects of economy, politics, technology and war.
