Recently, the Bureau of Land Reclamation of the United States Department of Interior developed a sonic detection technique to detect cracks and other hidden troubles inside concrete dam dams. Compared with the traditional drilling sampling method, this technique has the advantages of high detection accuracy, wide coverage and low detection cost. 1 Introduction Most of the concrete dams owned by the Bureau of Reclamation have been in use for more than 50 years, and some dams have survived for nearly 100 years.
