如何诱导橡胶树矮化和提早开花树龄,在橡胶育种工作中有很大的实践意义。通过1975—78年对1—2.5龄的18个橡胶无性系作不同方法诱导处理,结果表明:(一)用人工连续摘顶控制生长的方法,能诱导苗期芽接树矮化。16个无性系的矮化授粉园,至今已3.5龄,一般株高仅2.5米,冠幅在5米左右,人工授粉极为方便。(二)用全螺旋状(或1/2茎围对面双线剥皮,结合喷1000ppm香豆素,能诱导除PR107以外的17个无性系于1—2.5龄开花,开花株达80—100％,花期一致,花量很多,如桂研66—2,5株2.5龄授粉1231朵,采果82个;GTI,1龄160株,采果969个,而且种子发芽正常。处理植株未发现枯枝和风断现象。
