1978年末的一天,纽约机场大厅灯火辉煌,几十名西方记者打着镁光灯追逐报导一群特殊的来客。这52位身着统一黑色大衣的年轻学者,就是中国重新开启国门之后,第一批派往海外的留学人员。
One day in late 1978, the lobby of the New York City Airport was lit up. Dozens of western reporters chased flashlights to a group of special visitors. The 52 young academics in a uniform black coat were among the first to send overseas students after China opened its doors again.
