(1)2000年期间,我在中国完成了两件大型雕塑品。其中“苏醒”现竖立于天津经济技术开发区(TEDA),它象征着“新中国”;其中船与海的雕刻也与天津作为北京主要港口的作用联系在了一起。 (2)第二件雕塑品“燃湖”是在杭州完成的,观众可进到雕塑的内部,它既是雕塑作品也是建筑作品,该雕塑的形象会让人将其与杭州的山、水联系在一起。“苏醒”有很强的纪念意义。“燃湖”尽管气势庞大却能让观众有更亲密的感觉。两件作品均与本论文的主题相关,“苏醒”象征着变革,而“燃湖”则在对作品本质理解中营造出趋向与变化。
(1) During 2000, I completed two large sculptures in China. Among them, “Awakening” is now erected in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone (TEDA), which symbolizes “New China.” The sculpture of ships and the sea is also linked with Tianjin’s role as the main port of Beijing. (2) The second sculpture, “Lake of the Flames,” was completed in Hangzhou. The audience can enter the interior of the sculpture, which is both a sculpture and a building. The sculpture’s image will make it connect with the mountains and water in Hangzhou Together “Wake” has a strong commemoration. “Burning Lake” although the momentum of a large but allow viewers have a more intimate feeling. Both works are related to the theme of this dissertation. “Awakening” symbolizes change, while “burning lake” creates trends and changes in understanding the essence of the work.
