Objective To investigate the expression and significance of HER-2 and IGF-1R in gastric cancer. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of IGF-1R and HER-2 in 80 cases of gastric cancer. The relationship between the expression of HER-2 and IGF-1R and the clinicopathological features of gastric cancer was analyzed. Results The positive rates of HER-2 and IGF-1R in gastric cancer were 23.8% and 83.8%, respectively. The positive rates of HER-2 and IGF-1R in gastric cancer tissues were 10.0% and 20.0% respectively, with statistical significance (P <0.05) The expression was correlated with the lymph node metastasis and the depth of tumor invasion. In addition, the expression of IGF-1R was also correlated with the degree of tumor differentiation. There was a positive correlation between the expression of HER-2 and IGF-1R in gastric cancer tissues (P = 0.001, r = 0.362). The prognosis of gastric cancer patients with positive expression of both was poor. Conclusion The expression of IGF-1R and HER-2 in gastric cancer is related to the invasion and metastasis, which is of great value in prognosis.
