美国亚洲学会第50届年会1998年3月26日至29日在华盛顿D.C.举行。此次年会中共有学术报告会、圆桌会议等199场,其中,各种形式的有关汉学的研讨会共74场,宣读有关汉学研究的论文323篇。中国文学研究的论文涉及面比较宽。从时间跨度看,自东周开始,一直到当代文学,均在学术视野之内。从作家、批评家看,从三曹到李商隐,从李清照到秋瑾,从李渔到金圣叹,从黄遵宪到鲁迅,以及当代作家莫言、苏童、叶兆言等,均有论及。从作品看,中国的经典作品和名著,如《水浒传》、《西游记》、《聊斋志异》、《镜花缘》、《海上花列传》等,都有研究的论文。从文学
The 50th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Asia was held in Washington D.C. from March 26 to 29, 1998. There were 199 academic seminars and round tables in this year’s conference. Among them, there were 74 seminars on various forms of Sinology and 323 articles on Sinological Studies were read out. Chinese literary research papers covering a wide range. From the perspective of time span, from the beginning of Eastern Zhou Dynasty until the present age of literature, all are within the academic field of vision. From writers and critics, from three caravans to Li Shangyin, from Li Qingzhao to Qiu Jin, Li Yu to Jin Shengtan, from Huang Zunxian to Lu Xun, as well as contemporary writers Mo Yan, Su Tong and Ye Zhaoyan both mentioned.
