The Technical Archives (S76) of the China National Shipbuilding Corporation, located in Guanzhong, Shaanxi Province, is the only file keeping institution for the ship’s head office system. Since its establishment 30 years ago, whether in the deep mountains of the Qinling Mountains or in the hinterland of Guanzhong, leaders of the shipping company have attached great importance to the archives work and implemented the measures with remarkable results. The institute was originally located in the mountainous area of Feng County, Shaanxi. In 1985, the head office of the ship invested nearly 4 million yuan to build a new museum of a considerable scale in the Guanzhong Plain. In 1989, it was moved to a new location with very limited funds. For decades, the leaders of the shipbuilding company have consistently provided the smallest archives units in the system in terms of funds, material resources, and conditions.
