国务院2月26日发出关于进一步加强造林绿化工作的通知。通知说,改革开放以来,我国造林绿化和林业建设取得很大成就。但是必须看到,我国人均占有森林资源较少,城乡绿化水平较低,与国民经济发展和改善生态环境的需要不相适应,造林绿化的任务还十分艰巨。当前,在加快改革开放和经济发展的新形势下,必须进一步加强造林绿化工作,加快林业的发展。
On February 26, the State Council issued a circular on further strengthening afforestation. The circular said that since the reform and opening up, great achievements have been made in afforestation and forestry construction in our country. However, we must realize that fewer per capita forest resources and lower urban and rural afforestation levels are not compatible with the needs of national economic development and ecological environment improvement. The task of afforestation is still extremely arduous. At present, under the new situation of speeding up reform, opening up and economic development, we must further strengthen afforestation and forestry work and accelerate the development of forestry.
