在南台湾地区,同样有不少建筑风格独到的图书馆,其中就以高雄市立图书馆总馆为代表。该馆以“树中有馆、馆中有树的绿建筑文化地标”获得国际奖项。这座图书馆是全世界第一座悬吊式绿建筑,尤其“室内无柱空间,由上往下施工”的建筑工法,创下多项纪录。图书馆具极简、景观穿透性风格,融合了树木与吊桥的概念深具巧思。馆内6到8楼悬吊中庭,盖了一座可直达屋顶空中花园的巨型天井,引入大量自然光源,还有通风对流作用,节省电力耗能。
In southern Taiwan, there are quite a few libraries of unique architectural styles, including the Kaohsiung Municipal Library.
