宁夏人民出版社成立于1959年1月,是全区惟一的综合性地方出版社。建社40多年来,始终恪守“反映时代精神,注重文化积累,满足读者需要,创造一流业绩”的出版宗旨,努力追求高品位、高水平、高质量的出版目标,逐步形成具有鲜明地方特点和民族特点的出版特色。目前,该社拥有宁夏人民教育出版社、宁夏少年儿童出版社两家图书出版单位和《宁夏画报》、《周末文汇》、《少年读者》、《小脚丫》四种期刊。
