OBJECTIVE: BGP is a specific and sensitive marker of bone formation and is closely related to the growth and development of children. This study evaluated the dynamic changes of osteogenic activity and bone turnover in children by measuring serum osteocalcin levels in children of different ages The law of change, and further analysis of the law. Methods: Totally 62 healthy children were enrolled in this study. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect 62 healthy children (13 cases in group A from 0 to 3 months, 9 cases in group B at 1 year old, 13 cases in group C at 3 years old, 14 cases in group D, and 13 cases in group E as group E). Serum BGP levels were also compared among different age groups. Results: Serum osteocalcin levels of children in groups A, B, C, D and E were (21.52 ± 18.69) ng / ml, (41.18 ± 22.69) ng / ml, ± 17.10) ng / ml and (69.13 ± 35.64) ng / ml, P <0.001 for each group (F = 23.58), there was statistical difference. Conclusion: Serum osteocalcin levels in childhood and age were positively correlated (r = 0.38, P <0.01); that is, the older, the higher the content of osteocalcin, showing an overall upward trend. ② Serum osteocalcin levels showed two peaks with age, ranging from March to 1 year and from 9 to 14 years, indicating that osteoblasts were the most active in infancy and adolescence, and the mineralization of bone matrix was the most active It is consistent with the characteristics of bone metabolism in childhood to further verify the serum osteocalcin levels can be used as an objective evaluation of children’s bone growth and development.
