原大区一级人民监察委员会(以下简称大区监委)撤销后,全部档案於1954年9、10月间先后移交本部代管。为了便於利用,我们於1955年9月初开始进行整理。经过三个多月的时间,已将西南、华北两个大区监委的档案整理完毕。华东大区监委的档案,因为原来整理的较好,全部案卷都已按年度分开,还能利用,根据国家档案局的要求,可列为乙类,拟报请国家档案局批准,不再整理。除此,中南、西北、东北三个大区监委的档案需要重新整理。另外本部还存有原中央节约检查委员会的一部分文件(该会文件一部分保存在中央国家机关党委),也需要进行整理。
