大冶市位于湖北省东南部,长江中游南岸,地处武汉、鄂州、黄石、九江城市带之间和湖北“冶金走廊”腹地,西北与鄂州市为邻,东北与蕲春、浠水县隔江相对,西南与武汉市、咸宁市毗邻,东南与阳新县接壤。距省会武汉仅90公里,全市总面积1566.3平万公里。 大冶历史悠久。3000多年前,华夏祖先在这里采炼青铜,创造了被称为“世界第九大奇迹”的铜绿山古矿冶遗址;100多年前,湖广总督张之洞在这里兴办了中国第一个跨区域铜铁煤联合企业——汉冶萍公司,大冶成为中国近代工业的摇篮。
Daye City is located in the southeastern part of Hubei Province and the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is located in the hinterland of the “Metallurgical Corridor” in Hubei, Wuhan, Ezhou, Huangshi and Jiujiang, adjacent to Ezhou in the northwest and Hunchun County in the northeast, River relative, southwest and Wuhan City, Xianning adjacent to the southeast and Yangxin County border. From the provincial capital Wuhan only 90 kilometers, the city’s total area of 1566.3 million kilometers. Daye has a long history.
