旱金莲原产秘鲁,有时也叫印度独行菜。于十八世纪中传入美国,很快即成为人们喜爱的一种观赏植物和蔬菜。早期美国园艺家把它的花制做花束,用其花和叶作沙拉,腌制的种子作为“马槟榔”的代用品。
Nasturtium Native Peru, sometimes called Indian lone dish. It was introduced into the United States in the 18th century and soon became a favorite ornamental plant and vegetable. Early American gardeners made bouquets of flowers, used their flowers and leaves as salads, and marinated seeds served as substitutes for “horse areca”.
