As a new type of organic photoconductor, poly (N-vinylcarbazole) [PVC_z] has been used in practical applications such as electrophotography and photoconductive holographic recording. It can be prepared by various polymerization methods. Such as bulk polymerization, free radical polymerization, cationic polymerization and charge transfer initiated polymerization. At present, PVC_z used in China is mostly prepared by solution polymerization. Generally, benzene is used as a solvent and methanol is more than five times as a precipitating agent, but both benzene and methanol are toxic. This article describes a new VC_z polymerization method - free radical precipitation polymerization. This method
