高校公示语是高校的名片,反映了高校的教育质量和水平。越来越多的中英双语公示语标牌出现在各大高校校园里。但由于各种原因,高校中英双语公示语频频出现不规范现象,给人带来许多误解和困惑,也给本校带来批评和负面印象。本文仅以接受美学为理论依据,通过实地考察了陕西师范大学雁塔校区里的中英公示语,分析了其英译现状,并总结了校园公示语的英译策略。
College publicity is a business card in colleges and universities, reflecting the quality and level of education in colleges and universities. More and more bilingual signage signs appear on major university campuses. However, due to various reasons, there are many irregularities in bilingual publicity in colleges and universities, causing many misunderstandings and confusion, as well as criticism and negative impression on the university. Based on the aesthetics of reception, this paper examines the Chinese and English public signs in Yanta Campus of Shaanxi Normal University on the spot, analyzes the present situation of English translation, and summarizes the English translation strategy of campus public signs.
