Tianyi was one of the earliest modern Chinese schools of anarchism, having exerted a certain amount of influence in the history of modern china’s women’s movement. Many of its opinions on the women issue were positive and rational and had a strong anti - feudal and Enlightenment color. Because of its petty - bourgeois limitations and anarchist world outlook, however, many of Tianyi school’s ideas on women’s emallcipation were totally divorced from practice, bearing the marks of petty - bourgeois fanaticism and Utopianism and a strong anarchist color.
