According to Mr. Vo Mai, chairman of Vietnam Fruit Association, consumers continue to favor high-quality fruits if they continue to adopt traditional cultivation methods that will prevent local dragon fruit from gaining a foothold in Europe. In Asian markets such as China, consumers are more passionate about big, brightly colored dragon fruit. Consumers in Europe have a lot of taste and are more concerned with the quality of their fruit. Consumers in EU countries do not necessarily focus on the bright colors of fruits, and they consider the sweetness and aroma of healthy foods to be modest. Fruit growers should adopt the GAP standard set by the European Retailer Organization, which aims to provide consumers with safe agricultural products and to carry out sustainable agriculture.
